Anticipation
There’s something about those quiet March mornings when everything feels still. Frost clings to the trees, a soft fog hangs in the air, and the world seems to slow down just enough to notice the little things.
It was on a morning like this that I spotted him.
Perched high in the poplars was a beautiful Great Grey Owl, blending so perfectly into the muted tones of the forest that he almost disappeared from view. If not for his gentle movement, I may have missed him entirely.
I stood there, barely breathing, watching as he slowly tilted his head… listening. Completely focused. Completely present. Beneath the deep snow, something moved, and he knew it. Every motion he made was careful and deliberate, as he waited for just the right moment.
Not wanting to disturb him, I quietly captured a few images and then slipped away, leaving him to continue his morning hunt.
Moments like this stay with you.
A quiet reminder of the beauty that exists when we slow down… and simply allow nature to be exactly as it is.
