Article: Innocence

A Alaskan brown bear cub with a green a background.

Innocence

While photographing the Alaskan brown bears along the Cook Inlet in Alaska, we found ourselves in one of the most peaceful and remote places we’ve ever experienced. With no roads, no crowds, and nothing but the sound of the tide and distant wildlife, it felt like we had stepped into a world untouched by time.

It was here that we spent time with these six-month-old cubs, who seemed just as curious about us as we were about them.

Their playful antics had us laughing as they wrestled and tumbled with their siblings—so much like watching our own kids at play. And then, in between bursts of energy, they would pause… quietly sneaking a peek in our direction with those wide, innocent eyes, sometimes as if they were posing just for us.

Moments like these, in a place so wild and serene, stay with you.

Spending time with these magnificent bears wasn’t just memorable—it was truly a life-changing experience.
