Mischievious
While photographing black bears in the Great Bear Rainforest, we found ourselves sitting quietly along the riverbank, completely still and surrounded by the sounds of flowing water and distant wildlife. In that silence, we simply watched life unfold.
Along the edges of the stream, the cubs busied themselves while their mothers fished in the river. It was endlessly entertaining to watch their curiosity and energy as they explored every rock, log, and patch of shoreline.
I followed this little one with my camera as he wandered along the bank, completely in his own world. Just as I was about to capture the moment, he suddenly turned—and at the last second, like some kids we all know, he stuck his tongue out at me!
It was one of those unexpected, lighthearted moments… a reminder of just how much personality and playfulness we can see in wildlife when we take the time to sit quietly and observe.
