Just over the ridge from our acreage near Water Valley, AB, a beautiful red fox made his winter home. He and his mate became familiar visitors, slipping quietly through the trees to clean up the sunflower seeds that had fallen beneath our bird feeders during the winter. Their presence always felt like a little gift from the forest.

On this particular day, I found him resting among the snow-covered branches, perfectly framed by the shifting shadows of the winter woods. Calm, alert, and utterly at ease, he blended into the landscape with a quiet confidence that only wild creatures seem to carry.

Between the Snow and Shadows captures that peaceful moment - a fleeting glimpse into the secret life of a fox who shared our forest, reminding us how nature weaves its quiet stories right beside our own.
