Autumn Splendor

“Autumn Splendor”

Often when I photography wildlife it is amidst hues of green, as that is what nature gives us. So, when autumn appears, in all her variances of colors, I love to capture these Great Grey Owls blending into their autumn habitat. It often takes a keen eye to spot these magnificent owls during this time as they camouflage so well.  While out driving around, I always scan the fence posts in the distance to see if perhaps one is a bit taller than the others, as this is often where these owls sit, listening tentatively for rodents in the tall grass found in the ditches and along the fence line. For me, this is my autumn splendor at its best!
