After the Chase

After the Chase

“After the Chase”

One afternoon, while driving down a mountain park road, a big horn ewe leaped off a cliff and landed on the road right in front of us. Immediately behind her followed a large cloud of dust from which this amazing wolf appeared! We slowed down and backed off and let the chase continue before us. They both ran down the road for a bit and then the ewe took a leap over the edge down another cliff towards the lake below, with the wolf in hot pursuit! A little further up the road we stopped at a pullover on the side of the road. Much to our surprise, the wolf appeared out of the bushes a short way down the road, crossed it and began his way back up to mountain, only to stop and give me one last look “After the Chase.”
