The Stallion

“The Stallion”

One summer day we were out in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies and came across a band of wild horses feeding in a meadow. We noticed this one handsome stallion coming out from the shadows of the dark spruce trees. As the light hit him, his coat and long mane glowed in the summer sun.  We watched as he kept a protective distance while trotting around his herd, meanwhile keeping an eye on us and our whereabouts. As long as we stayed back, he seemed fine with us and would stop to graze on the meadow grasses now and then. What a treat to see this magnificent wild horse and his herd living free out here in the wilderness of Alberta.

Always enjoy reading about the history of the animals We often just take them for granted They have a hard but wonderful life running free and they are very smart
