On the Prowl

“On the Prowl”

One evening, while out for a drive in the Canadian Rockies we came upon this huge grizzly bear. Staying safely inside our car, we watched from a distance as it wandered through the grassy areas alongside the road, scratching at logs for ants and often pawing and rolling over large rocks to seek out grubs and roots to snack on. The large hump on their back is actually a powerful muscle that enables them to power their legs, allowing them to dig and run with ease. We could see this big bear was definitely on the prowl for its next meal, so we slowly and quietly moved onward, being grateful to have seen this majestic creature.
