Wilderness Melody

“Wilderness Melody”

Truly a symbol of the wild is the lonesome flute-like wail of the loons. Hearing them call alerts your senses to the unique splendour nature has to offer. I spent years trying to capture the young babies, while the parents kept them well hidden. Not only finding them out in the open was a challenge, so was the lighting, the wind, the reflection and trying to capture the eyes of all three at the same time. Although not a baby anymore, I was finally able to get this lovely family portrait of the birds that are so near and dear to my heart.
